Engineered Wood Products, or EWP, are made by taking timber and transforming it into controlled structural products. Instead of relying only on the natural properties of individual pieces of sawn timber, EWP uses engineered manufacturing methods to create products with reliable performance characteristics.
Wesbeam’s EWP range includes Laminated Veneer Lumber, known as LVL, and LVL e-joist, an I-joist manufactured with Wesbeam LVL flanges and an OSB web. Together, these products support floor, wall, roof, framing and structural applications across Australian construction.
LVL is manufactured by bonding layers of timber veneer together under controlled conditions. The result is a high-strength engineered timber product designed for structural applications such as beams, lintels, bearers, joists, rafters, purlins and framing members.
I-joists use an efficient I-shaped profile to provide strong, lightweight structural members. Wesbeam e-joists are manufactured with LVL flanges and an OSB web, making them suitable for floor joists, rafters and complete structural systems where straightness, long lengths and service integration are important.
